Editorial Policy

AutoPDP publishes practical automotive engineering knowledge covering product development, validation, homologation, Type Approval, production readiness, Conformity of Production and future vehicle technologies.

Editorial principles

  1. Practical value: Every substantial article should help a reader understand a decision, activity, deliverable, risk or compliance dependency.
  2. Clear authorship: Technical articles identify the author and technical reviewer.
  3. Primary sources first: Regulatory pages should rely on government publications, official standards organizations and recognized approval or test-agency material.
  4. Status separation: Draft proposals, final requirements, watchlist items and AutoPDP interpretations are labeled separately.
  5. No unsupported certainty: An unconfirmed date, scope or legal interpretation is not published as a final requirement.
  6. Transparent correction: Material errors are evaluated and corrected under the Corrections Policy.

Technical review

Published technical content is reviewed by Shyamsundar R. Kumbhar. Review considers internal consistency, terminology, practical engineering usefulness and whether regulatory statements are supported by the cited source. Review does not replace formal certification, legal advice or a licensed copy of an applicable standard.

Regulatory content

Official wording and AutoPDP explanation serve different purposes. Regulatory articles therefore distinguish:

  • Official requirement — what the cited primary document states
  • Engineering interpretation — how AutoPDP understands the likely engineering effect
  • Practical action — a suggested readiness activity for an OEM or supplier
  • Open points — questions that still require confirmation or program-specific judgement

AI-assistance disclosure

AutoPDP may use AI-assisted tools for drafting, formatting, coding, illustration, transcription and content organization. All published technical content is reviewed and edited by the author. Regulatory claims are checked against available official or primary sources before publication.

AI tools do not supply authority for a legal or regulatory claim. Unsupported generated statements are removed or kept outside public content.

Independence and advertising

Advertising does not influence technical conclusions, source selection or regulatory interpretation. See the Advertising Disclosure.

Educational boundary

AutoPDP content is educational and is not a substitute for formal legal, certification, homologation or engineering sign-off advice. Readers must verify the latest applicable requirement with the responsible authority and approval agency.
